When creating the new marketing campaign, CIS chose to do something drastically different in order to help raise awareness of the preventative measures of cardiovascular disease in a younger target demographic. In 2002, 22 percent of Louisianan's who died from cardiovascular disease were younger than 65 years old, according to the Amercian Heart Association. "We're trying to reach adults age 35 and older, with our primary focus on adults age 35-55," said David Konur, CEO of Cardiovascular Institute of the South. "It's important that we communicate to this group of people in order to create awareness of the benefits of preventing cardiovascular disease."
The futuristic, technology driven commercial takes place in the year 2087, and looks back on the technology CIS helped pioneer in the 21st century.
