Rebecca “Becky” Hutchinson, RN, CMPE, serves as chief compliance officer (CCO) for Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS). A native of Houma, Louisiana, and a graduate of Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana, her experience includes nursing positions in various clinical practice areas. Prior to joining CIS, Mrs. Hutchinson gained experience in management while working at Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC) as charge nurse of the critical care unit and unit coordinator of the special care unit. She also served as administrator for Family Home Care Resources, Inc.
Mrs. Hutchinson joined CIS in 1986 and served as cardiac rehabilitation staff nurse, clinical data and correspondence coordinator, director of quality assurance, utilization review and risk management, compliance officer and regional manager before her present position as chief compliance officer.
In 2002, she received the CIS Mary Domangue Award, which is presented to the CIS team leader that most exemplifies the high standards of patient care, compassion and dedication, as well as, carrying on the mission, vision and values held true by staff and physicians at CIS.
In 2006, Mrs. Hutchinson achieved the professional designation of Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) from the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE). Mrs. Hutchinson is a member of the Bayou Chapter Medical Managers (BCMM), and served as the BCMM President for four years. She is a member of the Louisiana Medical Group Management Association (LMGMA) and serves on the LMGMA board of directors and is also a member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA). Mrs. Hutchinson has given presentations to numerous community and management groups on various medical, compliance and human resource topics and has also served on a number of community and church boards.
