Located ten miles north of Baton Rouge, the city of Zachary offers the convenience of a metropolitan area with all the charm of small-city living. Zachary is a city of approximately 14,000, located in northern East Baton Rouge Parish and within an urbanized area population of approximately 550,000. Quality of life is important to the people of Zachary, and services are constantly being improved to meet the changes of modern life. A modern, well staffed hospital is located within city limits making quality health care services conveniently available.

Ranked Number 1 in the state of Louisiana, academically, and considered to be the best in the area, Zachary's school system continues to be a drawing card for the city. With children and family in mind, a new city sports complex provides recreational programs for all ages. New subdivisions are being built with affordable housing in every price range. Duplex and apartment living is also available. Zachary continues to be one of the fastest growing small cities in Louisiana. 

Lane Regional Medical Center is a thriving primary care not-for-profit hospital located in Zachary, LA which is licensed for 137 beds, including a 30 bed rehabilitation center, and accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation for Health Care Organizations and the State of Louisiana. The hospital operates a 38-bed nursing home and a 12-bed skilled nursing unit. Their Home Health agency, which provides health services in the comfort of the home, ensures that patients receive the continuum of care necessary for a complete recovery.
