Dr. Yunus Moosa, a native of South Africa, completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Durban in Westville, South Africa and attended medical school at the University of Ibadan College of Medicine in Nigeria. His postgraduate training included an internship at the University of Ibadan College Hospital. He performed a combined medicine and pediatric residency followed by a cardiology fellowship and cardiology research fellowship at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Prior to joining Cardiovascular Institute of the South, Moosa served as the Director of Vascular Services at Southcrest Hospital/Oklahoma Heart Institute in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He also served as the Director of Vascular Services for United Heart Associates at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Moosa is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians, and the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions. He is also a member of the American Medical Association. He has written or co-authored numerous research papers, abstracts and medical presentations in his specialty.
Moosa has hospital privileges at Lane Regional Medical Center and Terrebonne General Medical Center.
