 Jon Walker, CMPE, CPHIMS, CHS, serves as chief information officer (CIO) and chief security officer (CSO) for Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS). Mr. Walker is a native of Bourg, Louisiana and a graduate of Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He has held several management positions in the healthcare industry, with 18 years of experience at CIS. CIS, under the direction of Mr. Walker, has been featured in numerous national newspaper publications for having such a reliable Wide Area Network that stood the test of Hurricane Katrina.
Mr. Walker is a member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and has successfully completed the requirements to be designated a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) and Certified in Healthcare Security (CHS). He is a Board Certified member of the American College of Medical Practice Executives (CMPE). Mr. Walker is also a member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
