Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) is accredited as a provider of continuing medical education for physicians through the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). The activities are planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the ACCME. Each year CIS is a CME provider for an international conference held in July in Hawaii, entitled "Principles and Perspectives in Interventional Cardiology - State of the Art." CIS is also a provider of "New Cardiovascular Horizons and Management of the Diabetic Foot & Wound Healing," an annual conference held in New Orleans every fall. CIS also provides CME activities such as Cath Conferences in Houma and Lafayette, Louisiana, as well as local activities planned and implemented according to the needs of physicians and other allied health professionals.
