Dr. Fernando Arzola, a native of San Francisco, California, received his undergraduate degree at the University of Puerto Rico and his medical degree at University Central del Caribe.
He interned at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio, and completed his residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiology at University District Hospital of the Puerto Rico Medical Center in San Juan.
Dr. Arzola subsequently served as the director of the non-invasive cardiovascular laboratory and intensive care unit at Fajardo District Hospital. He was a staff cardiologist at Cardiovascular Center of Puerto Rico, the Caribbean Puerto Rico Medical Center and Dr. Gubern Hospital. He was a practicing physician with Eastern Cardiovascular Associates for several years.
Dr. Arzola retired from the U.S. Army Reserve after 10 years of service. Prior to his move to CIS in Opelousas, Dr.Arzola was the medical director at CIS in Raceland. He specializes in preventative and non-invasive cardiology.
