Mohammed S. Rais, MD Cardiologist
Dr. Mohammed Rais received his pre-medicine schooling at Notre Dame College, Dhaka, Bangladesh. His medical schooling was completed at Dhaka Medical College, University of Dhaka, in Bangladesh, where he also completed his first year residency as the assistant surgeon on in-service training, and assistant surgeon trainer, respectively.
He completed his internship and residency at the Department of Medicine, Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, State University of New York - Downtown Medical Centre in Brooklyn.
Dr. Rais was a clinical research fellow at Brooklyn Fertility Center, New York, before completing his fellowship in critical care medicine at New York University/The Mount Sinai Medical Center.
He then completed his cardiology fellowship at St. Vincent Catholic Medical Centre, Cornell University/New York Medical College in Jamaica, New York, finishing as a clinical instructor in medicine at Cornell University/New York Medical College.
Dr. Rais is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and is board eligible in critical care medicine.
He is a member of several highly respected professional societies relating to his specialty. Dr. Rais has received scores of prestigious awards including Honorable Mention All Notre Dame Man, Government of Bangladesh Board of Education, Fellow of the Year - New York University, Award of Pfizer's 4th and 5th Cardiology Bowl Competition, Top Ten Research Award 2000 at Catholic Medical Centre, and numerous more.
He is author/co-author of many publications, presentations and abstracts, and has completed countless experimental and clinical studies.
Dr. Rais joined the staff of Cardiovascular Institute of the South Thibodaux in July 2002, after completing his fourth year cardiovascular and peripheral interventional training.
