Samuel J. Stagg, Jr., MD
 Dr. Samuel Stagg, Jr. received his pharmaceutical undergraduate degree at Loyola University in New Orleans. He remained in that city to attend LSU Medical School. He conducted his residencies at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans and Charity Hospital in Lafayette. He was both the chief medical resident and chief resident for all physician services while at Touro for several years.
Dr. Stagg has been practicing medicine in Eunice since 1963. Prior to Eunice, he was in private practice in Basile, Louisiana. Dr. Stagg was the chief of staff at Eunice Community Medical Center for 15 years and served as the medical director of Eunice Rehabilitation Hospital for four years. Since 1984, he has been the director of ICU at the same facility. He is one of the rotating medical directors of the Eunice Behavioral Health Unit and medical director for the EMT program at LSU-Eunice.
Dr. Stagg is an adjunct professor at LSU-Eunice and is an ACLS course director and instructor for both Eunice Community Medical Center and Southwest Medical Center. In addition to being affiliated with the Eunice Hospital, Dr. Stagg is associated with Doctors' Hospital in Opelousas, Savoy Medical Center in Mamou, Louisiana and on staff at Opelousas General Hospital.
Dr. Stagg is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Internal Medicine, the Louisiana Society of Internal Medicine, the Louisiana State Medical Society and the St. Landry Parish Medical Society.
