 Salvatore Buttaci, MD
Cardiologist
Dr. Salvatore Buttaci serves as a staff cardiologist for CIS New Iberia. A native of Italy, he received his medical education from the University of the Andes in Venezuela. His postgraduate training included an internship at Rubio Hospital and Central Hospital San Cristobal in Venezuela, internal medical studies through the Latin American Program and an internal medicine residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Buttaci continued his cardiology training at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and later studied interventional cardiology at the University of Connecticut/Hartford Hospital.
Prior to joining CIS, Dr. Buttaci served as an interventional cardiologist at Centro Clinico San Cristobal Private Hospital in Venezuela.
Dr. Buttaci is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, nuclear cardiology, endovascular medicine and vascular medicine. In addition, he is named a registered physician in vascular ultrasound interpretation by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Dr. Buttaci has hospital privileges at Iberia Medical Center, Dauterive Hospital, The Regional Medical Center of Acadiana, Lafayette General Medical Center and Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. He is fluent in Spanish and Italian.
