Al Timothy, MD
Dr. Al Timothy, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, joined Cardiovascular Institute of the South in 2009.
Dr. Timothy graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of New Orleans in 1997. He earned his medical degree at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 2001 and completed his internal medicine residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee in 2004.
He completed his general cardiology fellowship in 2008 at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he also completed his interventional cardiology fellowship in 2009. During his fellowship, he received an award in electrophysiology.
Dr. Timothy is board certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and nuclear cardiology. His areas of interest include general cardiology, coronary and peripheral interventional procedures, and treatment of varicose veins. He also serves as a faculty member at the annual New Cardiovascular Horizons conference in New Orleans.
