Electrophysiologist
Dr. Alvaro Manrique is an electrophysiologist at Cardiovascular Institute of the South in Lafayette.
Dr. Manrique attended medical school and completed a year of internship in Arequipa, Peru. His internship and residency in internal medicine was completed at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he also completed his fellowship in cardiovascular disease. His fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology was completed at University Hospital Case Western Reserve at Harrington Heart and Vascular Institute in Cleveland, Ohio, where he was also named chief fellow.
Dr. Manrique is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. He is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society and has a particular interest in nitric oxide treatment and atrial fibrillation.
