Profile

Catina Burton serves as director of business services for Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS). She brings more than 12 years of health care experience to CIS. She earned a Bachelor of Science in finance and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana.

In December of 2009, Burton joined CIS as a financial analyst. Her job duties included data benchmarking, statistical reporting, new clinic projections and various analyses on financial impact. In 2014, she won CIS Leadership Award, which is presented to the team leader demonstrating the spirit of teamwork, creativity, innovation, and willingness to meet the challenges of the future.

Prior to joining CIS, Burton worked at Terrebonne General Medical Center for nearly seven years. She spent more than four years as a financial analyst, developing the capital and operational budget and preparing and filing the annual Medicare cost report.  She also spent two years in purchasing as a buyer, analyzing and negotiating contracts and product standardization.

Burton is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), and the Beta Gamma Sigma National Honor Society.
