SUMMARY:CIS New Iberia: Free EKG & Blood Pressure Screening
DESCRIPTION:Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) is hosting a free health screening for participants of the National Community Health Initiative 5k Run/Walk and Health Fair on Wednesday\, June 11th from 5:15 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at 500 North Lewis Street\, Suite #100 in New Iberia. \nGuests will receive a complimentary Electrocardiogram (EKG) and Blood Pressure Screenings. An EKG is a painless test that records the electrical signals of the heart. The screening can detect blockages\, the thickness of the heart wall\, past heart attacks and more. Results will be reviewed on site. \nRisk factors of cardiovascular disease include family history\, high cholesterol\, high blood pressure and diabetes\, as well as smoking\, being overweight or being inactive. \nRegistration is required.
