SUMMARY:CIS Zachary: FREE PAD Month Screening
DESCRIPTION:CIS Zachary to host free PAD screening on September 9th. \n***REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED!!! \nIn recognition of Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) Awareness Month\, the Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) is offering a free vascular screening event open to the public. \nAttendees will receive complimentary ABI and thermal imaging screenings\, which use advanced technology to detect venous insufficiency. Screening results will be reviewed on-site by Dr. Singh. \nNOTE: Please wear shorts or pants that can be pulled up above the knee for accurate testing. \nWhy PAD Awareness Matters\nMore than 20 million Americans suffer from Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD)—a circulatory condition where narrowed arteries reduce blood flow to the limbs\, often affecting the legs. If left untreated\, PAD can lead to serious complications\, including amputation and heart attack. \n\n60% of amputations in the U.S. could have been prevented with early detection and treatment.\nPAD is manageable with proper diagnosis and lifestyle or medical intervention.\n\nPAD Risk Factors Include:\n\nAge 50 and older\nSmoking (3–5x greater risk)\nDiabetes\nHigh blood pressure or cholesterol\nFamily history of vascular disease\, heart attack\, or stroke\nObesity or physical inactivity\n\nPAD Symptoms May Include:\n\nLeg pain or cramping after walking\nNumbness or coldness in the legs or feet\nSores or ulcers that won’t heal\nShiny skin\, discoloration\, or hair loss on legs\nWeak pulse in the feet\n\nThis screening will include both Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) and Thermal Imaging assessments\, with on-site interpretation by a CIS interventional cardiologist. \n🎟 Space is limited. Registration is required.👉 Call (985) 873-5688 to reserve your spot or for more information. \nhttps://CISZachSept9.eventbrite.com
