Dr. Sagger Mawri is a peripheral vascular fellow at Cardiovascular Institute of the South in Houma. 

 

Dr. Mawri completed his internal medicine residency, fellowship in general cardiovascular diseases, and interventional cardiology fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital/Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. During his tenure, he was named chief cardiovascular fellow, earned numerous awards including the prestigious Roger F. Smith Outstanding Fellow of the Year, and served as the co-chair of the Michigan fellow-in-training council. 

 

Dr. Mawri received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, where he graduated magna cum laude. For his pre-medical studies, he attended the University of Detroit-Mercy in Detroit, where he received dual bachelor’s degrees in biochemistry and biology and a master’s degree in chemistry, graduating summa cum laude.

 

Dr. Mawri is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, the Cardiovascular Research Foundation, and the Global Critical Limb Ischemia Society. He was contributed to numerous publications and presented at conferences on a variety of topics. He has a strong interest in complex coronary and advanced endovascular/limb salvage interventions.
