Partnership Expands Access to Advanced Cardiovascular Care in the Bayou Region
HOUMA, LA – Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) successfully completed its first procedure at Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center on Friday, December 12. This milestone marks the beginning of a new partnership that reinforces CIS’s mission to provide the highest quality cardiovascular care available by expanding access to specialized heart and vascular services throughout the Bayou Region.
Through this partnership, CIS interventional cardiologists will work alongside the Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center team to perform advanced coronary and peripheral procedures, expanding access to high-quality cardiovascular care for our community.
Coronary procedures focus on restoring blood flow to the heart, while peripheral procedures treat blood vessels outside the heart, improving circulation to the arms, legs, and other vital organs.
“We are excited about this partnership, which brings additional services and expertise to the already strong program at Chabert,” said Dr. Matthew Finn, interventional cardiologist at CIS. “By working together, we can offer more advanced procedures that support comprehensive cardiovascular care close to home.”
“We’re fortunate to partner with Cardiovascular Institute of the South to bring additional advanced heart and vascular care,” said Fernis LeBlanc, CEO, Ochsner Bayou Region. “This collaboration means that patients in the Bayou Region have more access to specialized services when they need it most right here in their community.”
