Jason Leger, FNP, is an acute care nurse practitioner for Cardiovascular Institute of the South in Opelousas.
Leger holds a Master of Science in Nursing from University of Louisiana at Lafayette, having achieved the level of family nurse practitioner. While obtaining his bachelor’s degree, Leger was active in coordinating nursing student activities in and out of the classroom environment.
Prior to nursing school, Leger obtained a military education at the United States Army Adjutant General School of Administration in Fort Jackson, South Carolina, where he received a Diploma in Personnel Records Specialist. While in the army, he received several awards for his organizational skills, including the National Defense Service Medal for Desert Storm and two US Army Achievement Medals.
A Rayne High School graduate, he excelled athletically, organizationally, and scholastically before graduating in 1990. His prior nursing experience includes telemetry and ICU nursing with total care for the cardiovascular patient, operating room, and medical-surgical care.
