Baton Rouge, LA – Dr. Amit Patel, interventional cardiologist at Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS), became the first in the Capital Region to use the CrossFAST Integrated Microcatheter Advanced Delivery System for complex coronary and peripheral interventions. The procedure was performed on June 15 at Baton Rouge General (BRG).
Developed by Vantis Vascular, CrossFAST is a dual monorail integrated microcatheter delivery system designed for complex coronary and peripheral interventions. CrossFAST provides enhanced pushability, allowing physicians to efficiently navigate and pass through complex, calcified, and tortuous or highly curved blood vessels. The low-profile design features an atraumatic tip with a seamless catheter transition, allowing for a smooth and safe passage through target lesions.
“This new technology represents a new frontier in the cath lab,” said Dr. Patel. “It enables us to navigate the most complex coronary anatomy with precision and deliver the best possible outcomes for our patients.”
Coronary procedures focus on restoring blood flow to the heart, while peripheral procedures treat blood vessels outside the heart, improving circulation to the arms, legs, and other vital organs.
