JENNINGS- Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) is now offering minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins at its clinic in Jennings, located at 422 Kade Drive, Suite 1. It has also been one year this week that CIS moved into this clinic to serve the Jennings community.
Varicose veins are dark, enlarged, twisting veins that occur most commonly in the legs. They range in severity from mild spider veins to severe dark, swollen, or bulging veins. Symptoms may include discoloration, itching, protrusion, and cramping or pain.
While some cases of varicose veins can be treated through dietary and lifestyle changes, some may require further medical treatment either to reduce symptoms or improve appearance. There are many in-clinic treatments to treat veins, the most common of which is radiofrequency ablation. In this minimally invasive procedure, radiofrequency energy applies heat to the vein wall through a thin catheter to close off the vein.
