Regional Practice Administrator
John Morain serves as Regional Practice Manager for Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS).
He manages the Baton Rouge and New Orleans regions, where he oversees practice administration, staff leadership, and day-to-day clinic operations. In this role, John works closely with physicians and team members to drive operational excellence, foster a strong culture of collaboration, and support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. Prior to his current role, John served as Practice Administrator for the Westbank location in Harvey, where he gained valuable experience leading clinical operations and supporting the growth and development of the practice. John began his academic career at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux as a walk-on member of the football team before continuing his studies at Louisiana State University. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the E. J. Ourso College of Business at LSU.
Before joining CIS in 2025, John built his healthcare leadership career in long-term care and hospice, serving in both administrative and operational leadership roles. Throughout his career, he has led multidisciplinary teams with a focus on operational performance, team development, and delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
In 2026, John was honored with the CIS Leadership Award, recognizing an individual who exemplifies teamwork, creativity, innovation, and a commitment to embracing the challenges and opportunities of the future.
John brings a diverse background in healthcare administration, operations, and team leadership to his role, with a passion for building high-performing teams and creating an environment where both patients and employees can thrive.
