Cardiologist
Dr. Wade May, a native of Alexandria, Louisiana, joined the physician team at Cardiovascular Institute of the South in 2009. He graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of engineering from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee in 1999. He received his medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans in 2003.
Dr. May completed a residency in internal medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2006 and completed a cardiology fellowship at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans in 2009.
Dr. May is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, cardiovascular computed tomography, vascular ultrasound, and nuclear cardiology. He is a member of numerous professional societies including the American College of Cardiology, the Louisiana State Medical Society, the Society for Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, and the Society for Vascular Ultrasound.
Dr. May treats a broad spectrum of cardiology problems and has three clinic locations in Acadiana. He has an interest in preventative cardiology and recognizes that cardiovascular disease actually begins many years before it becomes clinically apparent.
